Before travelling, we recommend checking your device to ensure it is unlocked. You can confirm the status of your device by following the steps below:
- Power off your device.
- Locate your device's SIM card slot.
- Remove your carrier SIM (if applicable).
- Insert the AOW Data SIM Card.
- Power your device back on.
Note: If you do not have an active plan, your phone will not be able to connect to the network, but you will still be able to confirm if the device is locked or unlocked.
After inserting your SIM and powering on the device, note whether your phone displays any error messages such as "Invalid SIM" or "SIM Not Valid" or if you receive a request for a SIM Network Unlock PIN. If you see any of these messages, your device is most likely locked to your carrier.
If you do not receive any messages upon insertion of your AOW Data SIM, your device is unlocked.
